Walter Mills has done 4 projects on my Queen Anne Victorian. The first was fixing the electricity, putting in lighted ceiling fans and exterior electrical plugs.
The second was an entire bathroom remodel and reconfiguration for a person in a walker. It included new copper pipes, and electricity, lighting and fan, large wall to wall curbless shower with three shower heads, a tiled bench and all the controls accessible to anyone sitting on this bench and 2 grab bars. The remodel has a wonderful sink cabinet, another cabinet over the toilet, a pony wall for privacy, fully tiled with a stone counter for the sink unit. The fabulous thing is that Walter and his partner built us an enclosed outdoor shower piped into the hot water heater and completely private so all 4 of us could bathe while they were working on the project.
The third project was to tile the kitchen and laundry room floor with porcelain long tiles that looked like grey barn wood. This works so well with the style of my house and this type of flooring is easy to clean.
The fourth project was a new roof. This old house had 3 layers of roofing material including the original redwood shingles. It is so old that it didn’t have plywood sheathing. Walter sheathed it, put on the under coat (I thought they would use tar paper, but that’s old style.) and the asphalt shingles. His helper painted the hand carved pediment with gold leaf. The company that put in the seamless gutters and downspouts with metal gutter protectors did a good job, but the new gutters were smaller. Walter went back and repainted the white trim so it didn’t look ugly. He is a dedicated builder who works hard, shows up on time has patience with people who aren’t sure of what they want and completes the job. He is in demand, but worth the wait.
I’m saving up my money for a fifth project!!! He was recommended to me by a neighbor who will write his own review as Walter completely redid their craftsman house.LikeLike
